“You are not your job, you’re not how much money you have in the bank. You are not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet. You are not your f*#%ing khakis. You are all singing, all dancing crap of the world.”
― Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club
Everything I Learnt
Happiness is not about state of mind. It’s about being content.
Stop chasing happiness and realize you already have it. We always try to make everyone happy, but we can’t. It’s okay….
It all starts and ends in the mind. The most crucial skill is how you think.
Mind is what you make it out to be. It is brilliant and stupid, It is tough and fragile, It wins and looses, It is selfish and selfless…
Everything is approximate. Don’t aim to be right. Aim to be less wrong.
It’s okay not to be brilliant. It’s okay not to be right all the time.. We all screwup. Infact, being wrong (unintentionally) every now ….
Everyone is a hypocrite, and it often doesn’t matter. Life isn’t a formula.
At some point, we pretend to have virtues, beliefs, principles that we do not actually possess. We tend to show desirable or publicly approved attitude, though in our private..
Everybody we meet knows something we don’t know; probably a fresh point of view
Sometimes just shut up. Listen. Just don’t talk but think – The talkative; talk. The stupid; blabber. The wise; listen and see a point
Don’t mend it if ain’t
broken
Something is bothering you but are you the reason ? Can you change it ? If you cannot, why bother ? If you can change, be the change. Time heals everything…
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Practice & don’t preach
Talk is easy. Talk is cheap. People say things they don’t mean because they are tired, tense, or because you provoked them.
Too many options are dangerous
While having many options in life is great they also tend to confuse you. We tend to over look the merit of what we have.
No job is too big or small
It’s not about the title, time it takes or what you get in return. Every job is THE JOB
The lengths some people go to for others is beyond words.
Sometimes, people need to be reminded of how good they are..
Perfection only exists in the mind. It’s not real. Think. do. improve.repeat.
Get started early. You call it agile or common sense,.
Who you let into your life is a vital decision.
Don’t leave it up to chance.
Choose your friends, family and battles wisely.
If you worship money, possessions, or privileges, you’ll never have enough.
Have them but don’t worship. Relationships are true forms..
You have to be lucky to be successful, but luck favors the prepared.
There is god. There is luck. There is success. There is hard work.
Reason and logic is most important, but it has its limitations.
At the end of the day, the heart wants what it wants !
You don’t need permission to lead, build, create, or to think differently.
Being different is good but being useful matters..
You don’t need to climb mountains to be adventurous
Do simple things. Follow your heart. At the end of the day..
Past is just a motivation. Present is Real. Future is imagination
Do remember the past for it’s good and for what it taught..
Over time, the greatest risk you can take is to take no risks at all
Yes, you should have your comfort zone. Yes, you should take risk;
It’s better to not have an opinion than to blindly follow someone else’s.
Don’t have too much of opinion or judgement. Go with the flow.
Rules and Norms are as firm as
you make them
Make rules but be considerate. Be wise. Have empathy..
There is nobody you can’t empathize with once you’ve really heard their story.
Better not to jump into conclusions until you know the
complete story..
What you say “no” will get you a win more than what you say “yes” to.
Know you can’t please every one. Offer an alternative if you seriously could.
The less you care about trivial things, the more important you become.
People care. People do not care. People get busy. People become selfish. People selectively ignore.
